The following is a selection of pictures from the lunch at the Menier Chocolate Factory at which Stephen Sondheim received our 2011 Award for Services to the Arts, the first American to do so.
The event was one of the best attended in the history of the award. Next year, our Centenary year, we will not be making one award for services to the Arts. Instead each section will choose someone to receive an award for their contribution to the Arts - the five will be presented at a reception to beheld in the Atrium at the Barbican Centre.
